Canadian Pacific Railway history

Canadian Pacific Railway historyIt took the financial acumen, drive and wizardry of Canadian Pacific Railway's founding fathers - R.B. Angus, D.A. Smith and George Stephen - and the gargantuan, general-like "go-for-it" ingenuity of W.C. Van Horne to get Canada's first transcontinental railway from paper prophesy to palpable prodigy in four-and-three-quarters years.

The company was incorporated on February 16, 1881, and the last spike was driven on November 7, 1885.
